Seth Green Loses Ape NFT To Phishing Scam, Binance Seeks Crypto License In Germany, Do Kwon Sued By South Korean Law Firm

Seth Green Loses Ape NFT to Phishing Scam
Seth Green, the American actor and comedian, had his Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFTs stolen during a phishing attack on Tuesday. The stolen NFTs included a Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT worth $200,000, two Mutant Ape Yacht Club NFTs worth $40,000 each, and a Doodles NFT worth $28,000.
“Well, frens it happened to me. Got phished and had 4NFT stolen. Please don't buy or trade these while I work to resolve,” wrote Seth Green in a tweet.
Green explained that he was trying to buy a GutterCat Clones NFT from a website that looked legit. The Gutter Cats are a collection of NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain that double as membership tokens into the Gutter Cat Gang with social perks similar to BAYC.
Binance Applies For Crypto License In Germany
Changpeng Zhao, founder and CEO of Binance, said that the company is seeking regulatory approval in Germany at the OMR22 Festival. Binance is actively recruiting compliance personnel in Germany and wants to acquire a cryptocurrency license soon.
Earlier this month, Binance received its first European license by registering as a Digital Asset Service Provider in France. Since Germany has the biggest economy in Europe, obtaining a cryptocurrency license would open opportunities for the rest of the continent. Binance already has the approval to operate in Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai.
"Our team is definitely talking with regulators here," said Zhao from the OMR stage. The OMR (Online Marketing Rockstars) festival is one of the biggest events for digital marketing and technology. Speakers for this year included Hollywood celebrities Quinton Tarantino and Ashton Kutcher.
Do Kwon Sued By South Korean Law Firm
LKB & Partners, a top law firm in South Korea, is suing Do Kwon, Terra Lab founder and CEO, on behalf of investors who lost money during the UST collapse. The firm also filed an attachment to seize Kwon’s properties.
"There are related investors inside the law firm and we will file a complaint against Kwon at the Financial Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency," said Kim Hyeon-Kwon, a partner at LKB.
The UST algorithmic stablecoin crashed last week to levels below $0. Meanwhile, Kwon has proposed a plan to fork Terra and create a new blockchain.
